Yesterday was a ‘dress day’; no gardening & no dirty finger nails. A day out to a fund raising event at a stunning location in Cambridge, a chance to spend time with a lovely friend and a walk around the city to appreciate the blue skies and blossom.
The event was in aid of The Sick Children’s Trust which supports Acorn and Chestnut House at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. These buildings were built by the Trust to give families a place to stay and so to keep families together when a child of the family is seriously ill in hospital. The Cambridge Fundraising Committee raises funds to maintain and staff the houses. Yesterday’s event was held at the Freemason’s Hall:
We had lovely cakes and coffee in the morning, followed by a light lunch after the event:
Before leaving Cambridge we had a quick walk around the surrounding streets and I could not resist snapping some of the delightful blossom:
Sadly, after last night and today’s winds, I suspect that much of the beautiful blossom will now be confetti on the ground:
