Last week brought the first cool grey day for what feels like a very long time. As I didn’t feel inspired to work outside, I had the time to cut and bring my flowers indoors.
My dahlias are looking beautiful right now, so I decided to make a simple arrangement for the dining room. I love the warm mellow shades of these dahlia flowers and the addition of a few heads of sedum and some bunches of elderberries added to the autumnal feel. The arrangement worked well in a stone urn to keep the natural feel and compliments the shades in the table linen that I like to use in these cooler months.
I have used two types of dahlia in this arrangement, both new to me this year. The darker dahlia above is called Dark Fubuki. The smaller salmon pink dahlia is Preference.
