Welcome to Day 2 of my review of my first year of writing Peonies & Posies.
By February I was starting to develop a pattern of weekly posting but I was still struggling with the technology, particularly with uploading photographs to the site. A great surprise was my first ‘like’ from Sally at My Custard Pie, my first follower (my dear friend Hannah) and my first comment from Cathy at Rambling in the Garden.
Highlights from the month included:
The first snowdrops.
Floating hellebores for a dinner party.
My beautiful Buff Orpingtons in a sunny spot on a cold day.
From the archives I found:
A favourite Valentines Day Wreath. The foliage was from the garden but the blooms and berries were purchased from a florist.
Here are a few more photos I have found from my February garden archives:
The photos make February look like a sunny month, but my memory is of low temperatures and terrible weather! The Valentine table wreath was made from red carnations and hypericum berries studded with pearl topped pins. The snowdrops and hellebores were flowering in the garden and the red roses came from the flower market.
Looking at these photos again makes me so excited to get back out in the garden. Things are beginning to stir again already and I can see from these photos that we are just a few weeks away from all the lovely winter blooms adding colour to the pots and beds again.
Thank you for reading and I hope you will be back here tomorrow for a look back at March.
Oh, Julie – I didn’t know I was the first to comment! I am only sorry that I just dipped in over the intervening months. What a lot of beautiful blooms I have missed!
I was quite surprised too, when I looked back to write this post. I have really enjoyed following you over the last year and hope that you will enjoy my posts in the year to come!
