Today I am rushing about getting ready for my trip to Amsterdam – sadly it seems I must pack a raincoat and proper shoes as rain is predicted for the whole trip. Hopefully the poor weather will add some natural romantic blur to my photographs!
Wthout the time or need to make any arrangements for the house today, I have managed to dodge the showers and pop out to the Cutting Garden with my camera. The dahlias, annuals and half hardy annuals are all in full flow now – I have enough flowers for my own flower shop!
To make this quick I am just sharing images today – if you have any questions about any of the flowers, please leave a comment and I will get back to you next weekend.
I hope you have enjoyed this brief look at some of the many flowers which are decorating my Cutting Garden at the moment.
I will be switching over to Instagram for the next few days whilst I am in Amsterdam, where I will be looking out for flowers and other beautiful images to share with you. So for this week you can find me on Instagram at @peoniesandposies – I will be back here with more flowers next weekend.
All beautiful, Julie – and brilliant photos. Enjoy Amsterdam, with or without the rain 🙂
Thank you Cathy – we had a lovely time despite all the rain!
Your cutting garden flowers are delightful Julie. Have a great trip.
Thank you Susie.
Its all looking very summery, enjoy your trip, hopefully the rain is kind to you.
Thank you Julie – it was very wet but we had a lovely time!
Wow! Enjoy your travels and may the rain be held at bay enough to be able to do so! Q-have you been able to grow the plantin the second image from harvested seed? And your mums are to die for! Or are they dahlias?
Thank you and welcome! The seed for the cosmos Bright Lights came from Sarah Raven and the flowers are dahlias. I do have chrysanthemums but they are not flowering yet.
Your images are fantastic Julie, I should dig out my old digital SLR and start playing with the focal length; the camera is very old and doesn’t take better photos than my much newer compact for general images and no where near as good on Macro. Have a great holiday, I hope the weather is better than predicted.
Thank you Christina – it was cold & wet but we had a great time anyway. It would be worth having a go with your old camera – being able to play with f stops and focus makes all the difference.
Stunning photos Julie as usual, your cutting garden must be looking wonderful! Have a wonderful trip to Amsterdam, I will look forward to the photos.
Thank you Pauline – the Cutting Garden does look amazing at this time of year – all the hard work seems worth it now.
