I was delighted to spot the first peonies of the season in the flower market yesterday. As you can guess from my blog name peonies are my absolute favourite flower and I will be making the most of this very short season, so expect them to feature regularly for the as long as they last this year! I started to photograph yesterday’s haul (which included white roses and purple tulips) before I had even unwrapped them:
Once unwrapped I added some fresh green stems of philadelphus foliage to set off the arrangement:
As the market peonies were a mix of open flowers and buds I hope this arrangement will last the week, with a few tweaks to freshen it up.
